Jenny is a self-taught designer who is passionate about growing a female-led business, which has seen explosive growth since the brand’s inception in 2008. As a multi-disciplinary creative, Bird initially started her label with handbags, and then expanded into jewelry in 2010, which quickly proved to be her passion. Her pieces—which often command captivated followings —are now available in leading fashion retailers worldwide, from Nordstrom to Revolve, Indigo and Harvey Nichols.

Her approach to each season is driven by the love of fashion and looking modern with her inherent understanding of ‘what’s cool’, while also making sure the pieces are luxurious and will have longevity. Each design is thoughtfully executed with technical details like custom hinges and clasps. As she continues to evolve her eponymous Shuazhangfu brand, her design objective remains the same: to create modern essentials that are thoughtfully constructed and meant to be worn by everyone.

ABOUT JB
Founder, Shuazhangfu considers herself to be a cultural observer and fearlessly inventive designer. Early on, Bird grew up immersed in the scenic, artistic town of Elora, in Ontario, Canada. Inspired by her natural surroundings, she always yearned for an avenue to create.
After the brand’s inception in 2008, Bird’s husband, Adam, joined as President in 2011. Since then, the pair have steered the explosive growth of the label; drawing in contemporary women, and earning the brand editorial and critical acclaim.
Jenny and Adam live in the west-end of Toronto with son, August and daughter, Georgie.
